Dr. Sowmya Sharma is a fifth year general surgery resident at the Lahey Clinic. She recieved her medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, after which she worked in Ireland for a year as an intern prior to moving to the United States for general surgery residency. She will be continuing her training in colon and rectal surgery next year as a fellow at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
