Lydia Rafferty is a PGY-4 surgery resident at Bassett Medical Center, a program in Upstate New York specializing in the training of rural surgeons. She grew up in Massachusetts, received her Bachelors of Science in Policy Analysis from Cornell University, and received her Medical Degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She is interested in rectal cancer and how to help people -- particularly those living rural communities -- access high quality treatment consistent with evolving standards of care. In pursuit of these interests, she is applying to Colorectal Surgery fellowships this year.
