Devesh Ballal, MS, MCh(Surgical Oncology) completed his training in India, with his medical degree at M.S Ramaiah Medical College followed by General Surgery Residency at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. He then went on to complete his surgical oncology fellowship at the prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital, the largest cancer hospital in the country. During his training at Tata Memorial, he was awarded the Dr RS Rao Gold medal for securing the top score in surgical oncology, the Department of Surgery Gold Medal for the Best Outgoing Student and also The Homi Bhabha National Institute Award for Outstanding MCh Student award in 2023. He then worked in the capacity of Assistant Professor at Tata Memorial Hospital, in the department of Colorectal and peritoneal surface oncology for a year before applying for a Colorectal Fellowship in the US and is currently the MIS Colorectal Fellow at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital at Park Ridge, Illinois.
