Dr. Subhathira M. Manohkaran, MBBS, MS (Surgery), MRCS (Edinburgh), is a general surgeon and colorectal fellow under the Malaysian Society of Colorectal Surgery. She earned her MBBS from the University of Malaya in 2009, became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, in 2014, and completed her Master of Surgery in 2018. With extensive experience in general and colorectal surgery, she has served in various hospitals across Malaysia and is currently pursuing a colorectal fellowship.
Dr. Subhathira has a keen interest in minimally invasive surgery and beyond TME. She has presented her findings at international conferences, contributed to peer-reviewed journals, and is actively involved in improving colorectal cancer treatment approaches. In addition to her clinical and research work, she is dedicated to teaching and mentoring. She has served as an honorary lecturer at the International Medical University, Malaysia and conducted structured training programs for house officers and medical officers in clinical skills, and surgical techniques. She is a certified trainer for the Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient (CcrISP) course under the Royal College of Surgeons of England and actively contributes to surgical education. Passionate about enhancing colorectal cancer screening and treatment in Malaysia, she participates in academic workshops and public awareness initiatives to support early detection and better patient outcomes.
