Dr. In Ja Park currently serves as Professor and Chief of the Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Asan Medical Center in Seoul, Korea, a role she has held since March 2021. With a career spanning over two decades, she has taken on key positions including Resident in General Surgery at Asan Medical Center (1999–2003), Clinical Assistant Professor at Kyungpook National University Hospital (2008), and Clinical Researcher in Surgical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, USA (2010–2012). She was appointed Associate Professor at Asan Medical Center in 2015 before being promoted to her current position.

Dr. Park’s clinical and research expertise lies in colorectal cancer, specializing in minimally invasive and recurrent cancer surgeries, the development of biomarkers for chemoradiotherapy, and multidisciplinary treatment strategies. Her dedication to advancing the field is demonstrated by her authorship of over 200 scientific publications, with more than 100 as the lead author.

In addition to her research contributions, Dr. Park has co-authored important textbook chapters, including Surgical Treatment of Colorectal Cancer (Springer, 2018) and Current Therapy in Colon and Rectal Surgery (Elsevier, 3rd edition). Through her extensive clinical practice, research endeavors, and educational leadership, Dr. Park continues to shape and innovate the global management of colorectal cancer.
