Dr. Slawomir Marecik earned his medical degree at Collegium Medicum of Jagiellonski University in Krakow, Poland. He completed his general surgery training at the University of Illinois Metropolitan Group Hospitals Residency in Chicago. He completed his colon and rectal surgery training at the University of Illinois Cook County Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency Training Program. He continued his training in robotic colorectal surgery at the University of Illinois and Lutheran General Hospital, being the first ever formally trained robotic colorectal surgeon. He works as a colorectal surgeon at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. He is the Program Director of the Minimally Invasive and Robotic Colorectal Surgery Fellowship at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and Chair of the Robotic Center at the same institution.
