Shayan Khalafi, MD (he/him/his)

Dr. Shayan Khalafi is a fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon currently completing advanced subspecialty training at Cleveland Clinic Florida. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami. Prior to medical school, Dr. Khalafi completed a Master of Science in Physiology at the University of Cincinnati and completed his undergraduate training at Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Khalafi is board-certified in general surgery and has cultivated a strong academic foundation in both clinical and translational research. His scholarly work spans gastrointestinal oncology, surgical outcomes, and innovative surgical technologies. He has published extensively in high-impact journals, with notable contributions to understanding gastric cancer biology and enhancing surgical precision in colorectal surgery.

Dr. Khalafi will be completing his surgical training this summer and will be establishing his practice in south Florida.
