Stephanie Trautmann, MD MS is a resident physician at the Rush/Cook County General Surgery integrated program planning to pursue colorectal surgery. She obtained her undergraduate degree at Tulane University and completed medical school at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Her clinical exposure to both an under-resourced public hospital system and high-resourced academic center has cultivated research interests in health equity, social determinants of health, and environmental sustainability in healthcare. Within the colorectal lens specifically, she hopes to decrease disease burden through promotion of cancer screening and identification of socioeconomic needs that impact post-operative outcomes.
