Dr. Toffaha is a Colorectal Surgery Fellow at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). He graduated as the top student from An-Najah National University in Palestine. Shortly after his internship in Palestine, he joined HMC’s General Surgery Residency.
Throughout his surgical career, Dr. Toffaha has performed a wide range of procedures, from minor cases to highly complex oncological operations. Notably, he consistently achieved outstanding scores in the American Board of Surgery In-Training Exam (ABSITE), ranking in the 99th percentile each year during his five-year residency. He has presented extensively at national and international conferences, including events across the USA, Europe, and the region.
Dr. Toffaha has received numerous accolades for his contributions to surgery and research. These include first place in the Regional American College of Surgeons (ACS) Surgical Jeopardy Contest in Kuwait, third place for the Best Innovative Research Idea at the Tenth Surgical Research Symposium in Qatar, the Academic Excellence Award, and the Best Case Presentation Award in Austria. Additionally, he was honored with the Excellence in Medical Education Award at HMC and the Best International Abstract Award at Oncosurgpal22 in Palestine. During his final year of residency, he was elected Chief Resident and recognized as the Best Surgical Resident for his exceptional academic achievements.
After completing his residency, Dr. Toffaha achieved the highest score among all candidates in the Arab Board General Surgery Exam, earning him special recognition. He also successfully passed the European Board Exam in Coloproctology in Greece.
Currently, Dr. Toffaha is specializing in colorectal surgery and is deeply committed to research and education. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and regularly lectures medical students at Qatar University. He also serves as the Director of the Basic Surgical Skills Course at the university.
