Dr Lekamalage is a General Surgery registrar currently working at Tauranga Hospital, a rural hospital in New Zealand. He has previous worked at both Auckland Hospital and North Shore Hospital in New Zealand. Dr Lekamalage graduated from the University of Otago in 2019 with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MbChB) with distinction in General Surgery. Dr Lekamalage has several publications in surgical techniques particularly in the field of colorectal surgery and has an interest in pursuing a career in General and Colorectal Surgery. Dr Lekamalage is involved in volunteer missions to CWM Hospital in Suva, Fiji.
