Omar Hassanain, MD, MS, born in New Jersey and raised in the Middle East, he attended THE Ohio State University for his undergraduate degree, and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He then moved to Washington, DC to complete a graduate degree in Global Health at Georgetown
University. Following graduate school, he returned to Ohio where he briefly worked as a biology and chemistry teaching assistant prior to moving to Australia to pursue his medical degree at Griffith University School of Medicine. He worked in Australia for a year before moving back to the US. Omar completed a preliminary general surgery year in Las Vegas before joining Swedish Medical Center in Denver as a PGY-2. He plans to pursue a fellowship in colorectal surgery after residency. His interests include rooting for the Buckeyes, drinking iced black coffees, watching cat videos, traveling, writing, and running.
