Sophia Diaz, MD MSE, is a 4th year general surgery resident at Johns Hopkins University (JHU); adjunct faculty at the Center for Bioengineering, Innovation, and Design (CBID) at the Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering; post-doctoral fellow at a JHU transplant surgery lab (PIs: Drs. Daniel Warren and Elizabeth King), and Bioengineer on an ARPA-H-funded project aimed at improving intraoperative visualization and critical structure identification using artificial intelligence (PIs: Drs. Jeffrey Jopling [JHU], Lisa Knowlton [Stanford University], and Jeremy Li [CEO of CisionVision Inc.]). She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Biology with the Advanced Track in Biotechnology & Physiology from Brown University, her Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University CBID program, and her MD at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
