Ammar Aleter, M.D. is a colorectal surgeon at Hamad General Hospital and Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Qatar.
Dr. Ammar completed his undergraduate education at Albaath University, Syria. He earned his medical degree in 2013, completed his internship at HMC and joined its general surgery residency ACGME-i accredited program.
Dr. Ammar completed his general surgery residency at the top of his class in 2020 with the best ABSITE score and passed the Arab Board for Health Specialization (ABHS) (General Surgery) in 2021.
After his residency, Dr. Ammar worked as a hepatobiliary and transplant surgeon up to Nov/2021. Soon after, he joined the colorectal surgery fellowship program at HMC. In March 2024, Dr. Ammar passed the European Board of Surgery (FEBS) in (Coloproctology) to become a certified fellow. He is currently working at the colorectal surgery unit in Hamad Medical Corporation.
Dr. Ammar has a keen clinical interest in laparoscopic/robotic colorectal surgery and also in proctology.
