Dr. Jiawen Wang is an associate chief surgeon of proctology department in Longhua Hospital, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai, China. She is a Master's supervisor. She is currently a Visiting Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Colorectal Surgery at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, New York, NY, USA. She was a visiting scholar at Michigan State University, USA in 2016, and at St. Mark’s Hospital, UK in 2018. She is specialized in anorectal surgery, particularly the management of perianal Crohn’s disease, as well as the medical treatment and endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. She is the CCCF (the China Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation)-IBD colorectal specialist. She is currently serving as some academic positions include an Executive Council Member and the Deputy Secretary General of the Colorectal Disease Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, as well as a Executive Council Member of the Pelvic Floor Medicine Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and so on. She has led one project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and two projects at the bureau level. She has published 35 articles, contributed to 7 science and technology awards, and applied for 2 patents. Additionally, she has co-authored 3 books, accumulating extensive clinical experience and significant results in basic research.
