Katherine Braid is a nurse practitioner manager at Johns Hopkins Hospital for both the Colorectal Surgery Division and Minimally Invasive Surgery division. She completed her Masters degree in Adult-Gerontological Acute Care at Johns Hopkins University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Stevenson University. Her current career interest include APP leadership, APP advancment, building independent advanced practice pathways, and pre-operative management of patients to reduce surgical risks. Her research interests include colorectal cancer in the younger population, LARS management, identifying high risk surgical patients in the geriatric population and the application of technology to reduce these risks. She has been a co-author to a few manuscripts and abstracts. Outside of her career she enjoys spending time with her family consisting of her husband and two children, fishing, and self-sustaining farming.
