Michael White is an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of Research in the Department of Colon & Rectal Surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His clinical practices revolves about the surgical treatment of colorectal carcinomatosis and the application of cytoreductive surgery. Along with his research appointment within the department he is the clinical trials co-lead within the Platform for Innovative Microbiome and Translational Research at MD Anderson where he facilitates trials of microbial modulation to optimize cancer outcomes for patients. His research aims study the role of tumoral microbes in modulating the tumoral microenvironment and response to either cytotoxic or immune checkpoint blockade therapies in colorectal cancers.
