Dr. McLemore’s clinical interests include outcomes research in new technology for disease of the colon and rectum managed with minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, taTME, and transanal endoscopic surgery. Dr. McLemore trained at Mayo Clinic Arizona for general surgery and Cleveland Clinic Florida where she was trained in the TEM technique under the mentorship of Dr. Dana Sands. As an Associate Professor at UC San Diego, Dr. McLemore was an early adopter of transanal endoscopic surgery (TES) and co-thought leader in the training and implementation of transanal total mesorectal excision (taTME) for rectal cancer. Dr. McLemore was the reciepient of the 2014 SAGES Education & Research Foundation Gerald Marks Rectal Cancer Award for the abstract submission deliniating a training pathway for taTME. In 2014, Dr. McLemore was recruited to the Southern California Permanente Medical Group, department of General Surgery, Los Angeles Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, a teaching and tertiary referral center for the entier Southern California KP Region. Working together with her colorectal colleagues at LAMC, Dr. Vikram Attaluri and Dr. Motohar Basam, Dr. McLemore continues to employ and investigate TES and Robotic techniques including TAMIS, TEM, and taTME. Dr. McLemore’s hobbies include hiking, gardening, playing volleyball, skiing, and scuba diving with family and friends along the beautiful California coastline
