Dr. Wissam J. Halabi is a native of Beirut, Lebanon, where he completed his medical education at the prestigious American University of Beirut. Driven by a commitment to surgical excellence, he moved to the United States to pursue advanced residency training in general surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston. Following his residency, he specialized further by completing a colorectal surgery fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Additionally, Dr. Halabi pursued a research fellowship at the University of California, Irvine, further enriching his expertise in surgical research and innovation.
After dedicating four years to an academic medical career, Dr. Halabi transitioned into community practice in Northern California, where he continues to provide exceptional surgical care, particularly in colon and rectal surgery. Passionate about global health, Dr. Halabi actively participates in medical missions to Kenya, where he contributes to improving healthcare access and outcomes for underserved populations.
Outside the operating room, Dr. Halabi treasures spending quality time with his wife, children, and close friends. An avid traveler, he delights in exploring new places, cultures, and cuisines. His passion for cooking, especially Lebanese and Mediterranean dishes, reflects his deep connection to his cultural roots and love for sharing memorable meals with those around him.
