Elizabeth C. Wick, M.D. is a professor of surgery with a clinical focus in colorectal surgery. In addition to doing the full spectrum of colorectal surgery, she has worked to bring colorectal surgery expertise to Moffit Long, working closely with the emergency general surgeons. Liza served as the Vice Chair, Quality and Safety at both Johns Hopkins and UCSF. Beyond clinical care, she has excelled as a mentor and researcher, promoting scholarship amongst trainees and junior faculty. She has been continuously funded by the NIH/AHRQ, most recently with a U award to better understand implementation approaches to accelerate adoption of advanced care planning in surgery. Previously she lead a national collaborative, in partnership with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the American College of Surgeons, around accelerating dissemination of surgical pathways across 4 surgical areas (colorectal, gynecology, orthopedics and emergency general surgery) over five years.
