Colon & Rectal Surgery has rapidly become one of the most popular choices for surgical specialty training and board certification. As a result, the colon & rectal surgery residency match is now more competitive than ever. This symposium is designed to help general surgery residents understand how to prepare themselves to be competitive applicants for colon & rectal surgery residency training and how to complete the application process. Guidance will be provided to help residents understand the type of training program that best suits their individual needs, and advice will be given to help navigate the transition between general surgery training and specialized colon & rectal surgery training. During the second portion of the symposium, participants will rotate between roundtable discussions regarding various topics related to colon & rectal surgery training.
