This symposium will cover the most updated approaches and strategies for the management of a common disease treated by colorectal surgeons: diverticulitis. The literature says that the Hartmann's procedure for perforated diverticulitis is obsolete, however, when it comes to everyday practice it is still the most common emergent operation for diverticulitis.
