Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

Recognize the different approaches and strategies for medical management of locally advanced rectal cancer—including total neoadjuvant therapy vs adjuvant treatments and immunotherapies.
Discuss the use of circulating DNA tests in staging and surveillance protocols.
Review surgical strategies for locally advanced cancers, including timing of surgery following neoadjuvant therapy and lateral pelvic lymph node dissection.
