This symposium will address sensitive and appropriate care of patients with gender dysphoria who are undergoing gender-affirming care with a focus on colon/intestinal vaginoplasty and other pelvic reconstructive techniques. The session will highlight the role of the colorectal surgeon in gender affirmation surgery, reconstructive options, management of short-term and long-term complications, and understanding of functional outcomes.
