Explain how a key concept drives question development and explain the sequential thinking process used to write an acceptable question.

ABCRS Question Writing Guide.

Multiple areas of examination in colon and rectal surgery require written questions to assess knowledge. These include the qualifying written exam, continuous certification questions, CARSITE, and CARSEP. It is extremely difficult to write a good exam question, as many concepts are controversial, and what is not controversial can become trivial. This workshop will provide basic guidelines to help participants develop the skill of question writing and improve that skill with practice.
